The Larry Ayre Trio is a musical co-operative serving up an eclectic mix of jazz, blues, swing, and classical guitar music reimagined for jazz trio. At the heart of the trio is Larry Ayre on acoustic and electric guitars and vocals, bringing his love of blues and jazz standards together with a passion for the nylon-string guitar.
Larry is joined by two exceptional musicians: Steve Wallace on acoustic bass and Bob Vail Grant on drums. Together, they create a sound that is sophisticated, swinging, and never quite predictable.
The repertoire of the trio takes some intriguing turns. Alongside familiar bossa novas and jazz standards are pieces inspired by South American guitar traditions that trace a path toward the bossa nova era and beyond. But rest assured: they always find their way back to Jump, Jive and the Blues!
